Vera Rocha ainda se lembra daquele pasteleiro e a receita do pastel chegou-lhe às mãos. Com espírito empreendedor, retomou com a família a confecção e venda deste doce.

In the city famed for its traditional carpets we tried the Pastel de Toucinho (bacon grease) made at Sabores d’Arraiolos.
The one who started making this sweet was its creator, the late Mr. Mendes, a skilled confectioner in Arraiolos who left good memories in the palates of the people in the region. Vera Rocha still remembers this confectioner and now the recipe is in her hands. With entrepreneurial spirit, she recommenced the production and sale of this sweet with her family.
