O mais antigo produtor das famosas Queijadas de Vila Franca do Campo é a família Câmara, embora haja outros doceiros nesta vila micaelense que também fazem o doce há muito tempo. Diz-se que a receita é conventual, mas não há certezas. Certo é que o leite usado vem directamente das formosas vaquinhas que por ali pastam. Uma maravilha.

The oldest manufacturer of the famous Queijadas de Vila Franca do Campo is the Câmara family, although other confectioners in this town of São Miguel also make this sweet since long ago. People say the recipe came from a convent, but nobody knows for sure. One thing is certain: the milk they use comes directly from the beautiful cows that graze on the area. Simply wonderful.
