BODINHAS DO ESPÍRITO SANTO

O chamado bodo era uma refeição que, na época da rainha Santa Isabel, era partilhada pela comunidade. Em Alenquer, esta tradição faz parte das festas do Espírito Santo, e foi essa história que inspirou a Confraria do Café a criar as Bodinhas.

The so-called “bodo” was a communal meal instituted in the times of Saint Elizabeth of Portugal. In Alenquer, this tradition is a part of the Holy Spirit festivities, which is what inspired the Confraria do Café in creating the Bodinhas.
