Among the sweet “folares”, everyone knows the ones with boiled eggs, half hidden in the dough. As we pass by the Doce & Arte pastry shop, in Fundão, we learn about a “folar” with the typical eggs, but otherwise very unique. It is based on a “bolo das rosas” recipe, and it includes the well-known Fundão cherry, among other sweet ingredients, with the eggs wrapped in gold leaf. The explosion of colors and shapes strikes our eye. For such an important date, this luxurious sweet is very fitting.
